Second Chemotherapy
“For you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.” Psalm 63:7-8
This past week has gone by smoothly for Mom, and we are thankful that she experienced very few side effects after her first chemotherapy treatment last week. Mom was a little tired the first couple days, and she experienced some “chemo brain” which gave us some moments of laughter as we went about our regular day-to-day. On Sunday Mom was able to join us in attending church. She told us that when she woke up, she just started getting ready without even giving it a thought about whether or not she was up for it. What a blessing that was! Then on Monday I came home from work to find Mom making muffins for us. She says “You know I actually feel pretty normal today!” Thank you Jesus for these moments!
Yesterday was Mom’s second chemotherapy treatment, and Dad was able to go with her again. Mom said the immunotherapy treatment was more painful – possibly because it was injected into the site where she received her chemotherapy last week. The pain was momentary and thankfully eventually eased. Other than that, all went well, and she was even able to leave early because it went so smoothly.
It is possible that as the treatments build, the side effects will build as well, but we won’t know for sure until we get there. We continue to pray that Mom will feel well.
Thank you for your continued prayers. It is good to be surrounded by so many people loving on and praying for us. Mom’s next chemo treatment is scheduled for Tuesday, September 23rd.

Prayer requests:
1. That God will bless the treatments so that they may be successful.
2. That mom won’t feel too discouraged when experiencing moments of weakness and anxiety.
3. That side effects will continue to be minimal so she can continue having good days.
4. Pray that she will be able to sleep well.
5. That she will be able to share the gospel and encourage those around her who are also receiving treatment.
