Treatment Ten
Written by Alyssa.
Treatment this week was uneventful again, and we are grateful for that. Dr. A ended up lowering Mom’s steroid dose because he believes the cough that she’s had for the past couple of weeks is caused by the steroid she’s on. Additionally, this seems to have a positive effect on mom’s ability to sleep after treatment. On Friday Mom began to experience some vertigo symptoms, which caused us a bit of concern, but thankfully that seems to have subsided today and mom was able to go outside and decorate her window boxes with greenery for Christmas! This is something she always looks forward to doing every year.
Mom’s bloodwork results this week again show that she is responding really well to her treatments. We praise God for continuing to bless her treatments!
Thank you again for your continual prayers and words of encouragement for us, and especially Mom, as she walks this road set before her.
Prayer Requests:
Mom’s low blood pressure continues to be an issue. Please pray that her blood pressure will stabilize.
Praise God for Mom’s positive reaction to the treatment.
That God will bless the treatments so they may be successful.
That Mom won’t feel too discouraged when experiencing moments of weakness and anxiety.
That the side effects Mom has been experiencing will be as minimal as possible
Praise God that Mom was able to sleep well and pray that this will continue.
That she will be able to share the gospel and encourage those around her who are also receiving treatment.
“He’s a God of glorious grace. God’s grace means that I can rest assured that I’ll have everything I need to be what he wants me to be and to do what he wants me to do in the situation in which he has placed me. I’m no longer restricted to the limits of my own strength and wisdom. By his grace, I have a new identity and a new potential. I’m a child of God; the risen Christ now lives inside me. I need no longer fear people or circumstances; I don’t have to feel weak in the face of suffering or temptation, because I no longer rest in the resources of my own ability. I’m in Christ and he is in me. This new identity gives me new potential as I face the realities of life in this bent and broken world. God’s grace gives me reason to take heart.” -An excerpt from A Shelter in the Time of Storm by Paul David Tripp.
