Treatment Fourteen
Written by Alyssa
Mom’s treatment went well again this week. Dad has been sick the past couple of days and despite that, he was still able to drive Mom to treatment but dropped her off at the doors instead of going in with her.

As you may remember from a previous post from closer to thanksgiving, I have an hourly reminder that prompts me to think about what I am thankful for. This is based on the book by Ann Voskamp called One Thousand Gifts. Yesterday the reminder on my phone went off while we were all sitting together in the livingroom and I thought it might be a nice idea to share.
What are you thankful for?
Mom: That the dex (steroid she’s on) helped me get some Christmas shopping done!
Alyssa: Fresh snow in the morning
Dad: Good Health
Prayer Requests:
For healing and quick recovery from sickeness for Dad and for Mom who seems to be getting sick.
Mom’s low blood pressure continues to be an issue. Please pray that her blood pressure will stabilize.
Praise God for Mom’s positive reaction to the treatment and for the healing in her heart.
That God will bless the treatments so they may be successful.
That Mom won’t feel too discouraged when experiencing moments of weakness and anxiety.
That the side effects Mom has been experiencing will be as minimal as possible
Pray that Mom will be able to sleep well this week.
That she will be able to share the gospel and encourage those around her who are also receiving treatment.
“The advent season is a season of waiting, but our whole life is an advent season, that is, a season of waiting for the last advent, for time when there will be a new heaven and a new earth.” Quote by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
“During the advent season we read to remember the story of redemption, to remember Christ coming to save His people, and to be reminded of the hope we have that He will come again. This rhythm of the Advent season coming around year after year is a gracious gift from God because we are a forgetful people. We need this rhythm to draw us back to the truth that Christ came. He lived a sinless life so that he could be the propitiation for our sin. He took our sin upon himself and gave us his perfect righteousness. He died on the cross and suffered the wrath that we deserved. He rose again on the third day. He ascended to heaven where he is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to take His people to the place He is preparing for us. Come, thou long-expeced Jesus!” Quote by Debbie Bratton (@Handletteredtruth)
